On June 30, 2026, the Annual Trade and Investment Dialogue 2026 was held in Dar es Salaam, highlighted by the official launch of the Tanzania Chamber Portal (TCP). Diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine in Tanzania and the Representative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tanzania attended this significant event.

The TCP was developed under the Tanzania Gateway for Trade, Transport and Environment (T-GATE) project, funded by the European Union through the #GlobalGateway Strategy. This digital platform is designed to simplify trade facilitation, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Key benefits of the portal for businesses include:

• Digitization of services: Traders can now apply for Certificates of Origin and report Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) through a single online system.

• Integration and Transparency: By integrating with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Single Window System, the portal enables the seamless electronic exchange of documentation across government agencies, reducing paperwork and duplication of procedures.

• Efficiency: The system allows traders to track applications in real-time, reducing the need for physical visits and lowering the overall cost of doing business.

During the dialogue, government officials emphasized that Tanzania’s economic transformation relies on strong collaboration between the government and a bold, innovative private sector. The launch of the portal forms part of a broader reform agenda aimed at modernizing service delivery and positioning Tanzania as a regional trade and investment hub.

Participation in such forums is a vital component of the Embassy’s efforts to study best practices in digital trade transformation and to strengthen connections with Tanzania's business community to foster future Ukrainian-Tanzanian economic cooperation.
