Ukrainian Book Institute announces the launch of the Translate Ukraine 2025 program to support translations of Ukrainian literature into other languages.
We invite foreign and Ukrainian publishers to participate who intend to translate, publish, and distribute works of Ukrainian literature in other countries!
For participation in the competitive selection, the UBI accepts projects for the translation of works of contemporary Ukrainian literature and public domain:
📚 written in the Ukrainian language;
📚 published by a Ukrainian publisher(s) before the submission of the application;
📚 to be fully completed and published by the end of 2025;
📚 to be published in a print run of at least 300 copies.
Priority areas: classical, as well as contemporary Ukrainian literature, in particular on topics related to: the Russian war against Ukraine, decolonization, the history of Ukraine in various periods, Ukrainian culture, traditions, and everyday life, etc.
The maximum amount of expenses reimbursed by the Institute to the publisher is 8000 euros or the equivalent in the national currency of Ukraine - hryvnia.
